So far, in the first act, I think the most power hungry person is Lady Macbeth. Although Macbeth went along with her plan she was really the one to plant the idea in his mind.

I believe that Lady Macbeth is the most power hungry person in the first act. She has encouraged her husband to do bad.

It seems that Lady Macbeth is the most power hungry and monomaniacal. Macbeth wants to committ the terrible deeds, but Lady Macbeth is the one who ultimately drives him to do it.

In the first act, the person who is the most power hungry is Lady Macbeth. She only wants her husband to rule so that she can gain power for herself. She will do things such as killing people to get the power she desires.

In the first act, I think that Lady Macbeth is the most power hungry. The murder of the king was thought of and planned by her, though Macbeth actually carried it through.

In the first act it seems that Lady Macbeth is the most hungry for power. Her unchecked ambition makes her go to great extents in order to gain power she does not yet hold. Macbeth seems to be at her disposal as he goes against his better judgement and kills Duncan and Banquo at her request. Macbeth also seeks power but he is less ambitious and is careful to look at the future consequences of his actions.

Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are both hungry for power. Why? Are their lives not good enough? Will power make them happier? Lady Macbeth is the one who convinces Macbeth that in order to get what he wants he has to kill the king. If he kills the king, he'll have power over the people of Scotland. If he hadn't let Lady Macbeth into his head, and kept his innocence and morals, he would've shown how powerful he is.

In the first Act only, so far, i believe Lady Macbeth is the most power hungery person because she bullies Macbeth into killing the King even though he didn't really want too. Like when se says "What beast was't then that made you break this enterprise to me? When you durst do it then you were a man; And, to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man. Nor time nor place did then adhere, and yet you would make both: They have made themselves, and that their fitness now does unmake you." Here she is like you are acting like a coward not a man and u promised me so you have to do if for me. I think some one now a days that is like Lady Macbeth is Wilhelmina who is in the TV show Ugly Betty. She will do anything to get the magazine.

Yeah, definiatly Lady Macbeth. She knows that she has power over Macbeth as his wife. Although Macbeth kind of comes up with the idea to kill Duncan on his own ("Stars, hide your fires;/Let not light see my black and deep desires" lines 57-8, Act I Scene IV), it is Lady Macbeth who convinces him to go through with it. She is cunning and tells Macbeth to leave all the planning to her. When Macbeth confesses his fears to her, she silences him and reminds him of all the power that could be gained. Also, Macbeth is able to see Banquo's ghost, showing that he has a conscience, but Lady Macbeth tells him he is being weak (Are you a man? line 69 Act III, Scene IV).

The person who is most power hungry in Act One is Lady Macbeth. She is the one urging Macbeth to kill King Duncan in order to gain power. She's willing to do anything she can to gain power in the kingdom.

So far I think the most power hungry person would have to be Lady Macbeth. She's willing to do anything to gain power. She came up with the idea of killing the king and she pushed Macbeth into following through with it.

I agree, i think that lady Macbeth was the most power hungry in the first act. She was controllling of Macbeth and was encouraging him to kill people.

I find that Lady Macbeth is the most power hungry person. She forced her husband to murder men so he could be king. Although MacBeth does terrible deeds, Lady MacBeth is the mastermind behind it all. And he motive is always the power that will come after the killing. If this doesnt scream power hungry i dont know what else does.

I think that Lady Macbeth is the most power hungry person in the first act. She was the one who told Macbeth to kill. However, even though Macbeth did go along with the plan, he wouldn't have the idea to kill, so that doesn't leave him the most power hungry.

I know that everyone has said that Lady MacBeth is the most powerful person in Act 1, but I have to agree with them because she is the person who is kind of behind scenes but still organizing the events of the story, if you know what I mean. She also wants power so badly, that she is willing to let her husband commit murder to gain it but she herself doesn't have the guts to commit the murder herself which shows a side of weakness to her. Overall, Lady MacBeth is evil and power-hungry, which is not a good combination.

Yeah basically what everybody else said. Lady Macbeth is easily the most power hungry and evil person so far. By convincing Macbeth to kill, she is just putting herself out there as a power hungry villain.

I think that Lady Macbeth is the most power hungry because she wants her husband to commit all these murders, so that she can basically, get a free ride to the top and so that she can have all this power. It will be interesting to see what happens to her at the end of the play.

Right now the most power hungry person in Macbeth, I think is Lady Macbeth. She is the puppet master only using Macbeth to do as she pleases. Macbeth doesn't really like the fact that he is doing all of this but Lady Macbeth is telling him to do these evil things. Later in the play I believe Macbeth will want more power himself but for now its mostly just Lady Macbeth.

Lady Macbeth is the most power hungry person so far. She encouraged her husband to do what he did.

Lady Macbeth seems to be the most power hungry. She encouraged Macbeth to do the deeds and seems to be the one more driven by an unquenchable thirst for power while Macbeth is just the obedient husband acting on Lady Macbeth's wishes.

"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."

-Abraham Lincoln

This quote isn't from a power hungry person themself like Taylor's, but i think Abraham Lincoln does a good job of describing what power does to people. He says that nearly all men can deal with hardship and misfortune, but the true test is to give him power and to see if it corrupts his character, which may have been pure through hardship and previous to them gaining power.

So far in the readings, Lady Macbeth is the most power hungry person. She was the one to plant the plan into Macbeth's head and you can tell she would do anything to rise up.

I think that Lady MacBeth is the most power hungry character in the play. After all the plot to kill Duncan was her idea and when MacBeth doesnt want to do it she persuades him to do it anyways.
